Learning Disabilities | A Caring Environment

The Association has housing schemes for persons with learning disabilities in Londonderry, Limavady, Omagh and Strabane.

These schemes accommodate residents who formerly lived in hospital, or, who are no longer able to continue living at home.

Our accommodation provides for varying degrees of dependency, from challenging behaviour to low support and also caters for persons with physical disabilities. Each housing scheme is domestic in nature with a home-like setting. Each resident has their own bedroom which is individually furnished. Many of our homes have overnight rooms to allow a member of the family to stay.

All our schemes are registered with the WHSSB Registration Unit. We employ qualified staff providing 24 hour cover. Our staff develop individual care packages for each resident which also encompasses day-care. In the Republic of Ireland, North and West is also assisting the North Western Health Board with its programme of relocating residents from hospital by providing purpose built accommodation in the community.
